 Blair Essom, CEO of
Katchakid, designed the first safety net after the tragic death
of a close friend's son, who drowned at a family get-together in
1967.
Blair said,
'...everyone was there, but nobody noticed the child fall
in........... his death was horrifyingly silent.'
He was shocked to
think that he had been enjoying himself while the child was
gasping for life.
He determined to find
a way to ensure the safety of his own and friends swimming
pools, so that other families wouldn't suffer this devastation.
Thus, the first swimming pool safety net was created. Blair called
it Katchakid.

IMPORTANT

 Your pool net does not replace adult
supervision. Katchakid is designed to act as a last line
of defence. Katchakid is an additional safety feature
for your pool.

Children should never be left
unattended

Pool Protection can only be effective
if it is used.

Your Katchakid Safety Net is not a
toy. Do not allow children or adults to jump or play on
the net, this will cause rubbing or chaffing of the net

Do not allow animals to chew the net.
Your net is not warranted against destruction by
animals

Keep the net away from heat-sources,
e.g. barbecues, as it could melt.

Do not use your pool with the
Katchakid partially removed. This creates a dangerous
situation and should be avoided at all times. Your pool
is not properly secured until the net is in place and
properly tensioned

The greater the distance between the
water and the Katchakid, the more effective the net is.
It is recommended that this distance be at least 175mm
below the upper edge of the pool surround (coping) or to
manufacturer’s specifications

Concrete decks should be a minimum of
100mm deep to ensure that the anchors remain secure

The coping and pool surround should
be in a good condition
-
When a Katchakid pool net
has been installed on a new pool - wait for 5 days after final completion to
allow concrete and cement to cure

the Katchakid Pool Safety Net is a supplementary pool
safety aid. The best pool safety around pools is the
undivided and competent adult supervision. A Katchakid net
can never replace adult supervision, nor can it be a
guarantee against drowning or other accidents.”
Pricing
Katchakid costs less than any other effective
security cover or fence, and is the single most effective
solution to pool safety
Every pool is unique, in size and in it's own
individual features. Every safety net is also unique, custom
made, custom installed and adjusted to exactly fit each
individual pool.
Therefore, it is impossible to give a
'blanket' price. As a guide, a Katchakid to fit an (8x4metre)
rectangular pool will cost approx 1385 Euros.
Price covers delivery, installation, roller,
IVA and training in the use of Katchakid.

as a guide to measure your pool. You can phone or email your
dimensions to us here at Deep Blue Pools and get a free
quotation.
Place your pool in an imaginary box or
rectangle, then using a measuring tape, measure from inside the
walls (the waters edge) for maximum length and width.
Please do not
add on any more than required, as this will only increase the
price for your net. |
